Tasting Notes:

Our 2020 Reserve Syrah is only the second vintage to see a small amount of Viognier. Made famous in Côte-Rôtie, in the Rhône Valley of France, this practice allows the Viognier to balance the earthiness of Syrah with light, airy top notes. We finished the blend with a little Petite Sirah to further elevate the body and ageability. Notes of ripe strawberry and dark chocolate, with rounded tannins.

I gave this wine a 93 grade. Huge aroma of pepper and lush dark fruit on the nose. Fresh fruit not dry. Some herbs and leather. The palate is a huge peppery plumb bomb with hints of spice, tobacco, and medium tannins. Pretty balanced. Not a lot of acidity detected. This was a delicious stand alone wine, but also complimented Cuban food. Was a huge hit with friends. I have 1 bottle left and I don't thing I'll have the patience to lay this one down...hoping to score another bottle this week when I visit and cellar it for a few years.
