2021 Reserve Tempranillo
Appellation: Riverside County
Alcohol: 14.1%
Residual Sugar: 0.2%
Oak: Aged 24 months American, 25% New
Composition: 63% Temecula Valley Tempranillo, 37% Sage Tempranillo
Tasting Notes:
An overflowing basket of ripe blackberries, roses, and fresh herbs greet the senses in our 2021 Reserve Tempranillo, gently giving way to a luscious black plum core with structured, yet supple tannins on the finish.
Winemaker’s Notes:
A majority of the fruit comes from our La Cresta vineyard, which produces medium bodied Tempranillo with nice tannin structure, with Sage Tempranillo bringing out more red fruit and spicy notes. The higher elevation and sloped hills make for an excellent expression of our Temecula terrior, giving the wine depth and concentration, without overpowering the nuances that bring the complexity we expect in this wine.
Food Pairing Ideas:
Fennel crusted lamb chops, rosemary roasted pork loin or duck confit
